Bank AlJazira POS Acquiring solution (2010)

Business Need
Bank AlJazira is looking for a comprehensive and fully integrated strategic solution to establish and develop the POS acquiring service to generate an additional revenue stream for the bank as well as a supportive factor for the Corporate, Retail and SME business. 
The required solution must support the bank’s current requirements and comply with Card Industry Standards including SPAN2 Specifications available from the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA), the MasterCard Amex and Visa specifications and the PCI-DSS standard. The solution will be implemented in a phased approach as detailed later in this document to support the more urgent needs in the short initial phase and other needs in the subsequent phase.
The bank’s requirements encompass the following:
 
  • Complementing the existing environment  by adding a POS acquiring solution that  includes: 
  • A turnkey POS acquiring system supported by all POS device brands and    models. 
  • An Online Interfacing with BAJ Current Switch
  • A Batch Interfacing with BAJ EQ3 Host for Posting
  • A Merchant Management system, settlement, reconciliation, exception managements to be certified with SAMA, Visa and MasterCard
  • A Real time risk management, Fraud monitoring system and Loyalty System for Merchants
  • The systems provided should be scalable and satisfy current and future volume
  • Required POS Acquiring Procedures & Policies including the workflow and required job profiles and functions
  • Implementation Services to Include Training, Knowledge Transfer & Certification Support
  • Solution compliance with PCI-DSS, SAMA & International networks Visa, MasterCard & Amex mandates
  • Building the needed infrastructure to allow a smooth expansion and to meet future Bank Aljazira needs of leveraging investment by implementing new products.

  • The proposed solution is based on international standards, industry best practices, proven state-of-the-art products, and thorough implementation experience and expertise.  It is PCI-DSS, SPAN2, Visa and MasterCard compliant. The solution components are flexible, scalable, and very well supported.  Finally, they support and satisfy BAJ POS Acquiring requirements and vision, and will be a solid foundation for future evolution.
  • From FNIS (Fidelity National Information Services), the world leader in banking and e-Payment technologies, solutions and services, we propose IST/Switch for the POS Acquiring core functionality and Fraud Navigator for the online fraud monitoring functionality.
  • Ejada and Vedas is also providing the eClearing solution which has been developed to cater for the international and regional settlement/reconciliation requirements and the corresponding claims and exception management functionality. 
  • For the loyalty management functionality, Ejada and Vedas is proposing the eLoyalty application which covers the required merchant loyalty needs and can later be used for cardholder loyalty programs as well. These products are integrated with FIS IST/Switch.
  • This offers Bank AlJazira a scalable platform, which not only integrates easily into the bank’s enterprise infrastructure today; but for the future, provides the bank the capability to expand.
  • More importantly, the solution’s open technology environment provides Bank AlJazira vendor independence when it comes to choice of infrastructure platforms as well.
